Having fun with @CISCRP ‘s #appreciathon2023 everyone participating in clinical trials is #mymedicalhero but my friend Kathleen Arntsen not only participates in but she is a leading advocate for encouraging the Lupus community to participate and support clinical trials.

My medical hero is my friend Corey Burke. She was diagnosed with metastatic cancer in 2016 and began a trial treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She lost her courageous battle that same year but her legacy and memory will live on in the hearts of so many. Here's to you Cor!

Thankful for so many in the medical profession but the person who stands out is Dr. Lester Farhner, M.D. He was a key part of research department at Christie Clinic for several years. His participation brought several new therapies for psoriasis, AK, acne, and more!

I downhill skied today and wasn’t sure how to log it. I used Alpine Skin Touring and it gave me a crazy amount of miles, much more than the 14 miles of downhill over 3.5 hours. Is there any way to delete it so I can log it as something more reasonable?

So fun! Yes, you can delete activity by clicking the gear icon on the top right of your activity log. Then feel free to re-log using "skiing, light/moderate" or "skiing, advanced/high intensity"
The snowboarding is accurate. My dad was on skis and tracked our day- miles came out on point.

It appears that the options for biking were changed yesterday. On Feb 1 and Feb 2, you could select Biking - Vigorous Pace, Biking - Moderate Pace, or Biking - Easy Pace, and provide input in minutes. The minutes would then get converted to miles; it seemed to be about 5.8 miles per hour of Biking - Vigorous Pace. But starting yesterday, there is only one Biking option, and it's logged in miles and left in miles. So if I bike for an hour and cover 18 miles, I'll now get credit for 18 miles rather than 5.8. This would seem to be a tremendous advantage for cyclists in the competition. I guess it benefits me, but to me it seems unfair to athletes of other disciplines, particularly to change during the event. Any guidance?
Good morning! Yes, after receiving some feedback we decided to make biking a true 1:1 conversion in miles. We have reactivated the other biking options that convert to a smaller mileage so folks can decide how they wish to log that activity. The real mission of this challenge is to honor Medical Heroes, learn about clinical research, and have some healthy fun along the way! Not so much about the actual mileage everyone logs. We hope everyone understands and continues to enjoy the challenge!

Race throughout the stunning French Riviera with CISCRP as we show our appreciation for Medical Heroes! "Medical Heroes" are clinical trial study volunteers, healthcare professionals, researchers, and those on the front lines who are treating and caring for the public.

Join racers from around the world to log any physical activity completed throughout the month of February - it doesn't have to be just running or jogging! Each measurement of activity is converted into miles and will pin-point teams on the virtual course along the coast of France.

All donations support CISCRP’s global education initiatives that empower patients and the public to make informed decisions about clinical research participation.

                      A few pointers:
                      1. We rely on the honor system. You don't have to use a device to prove your miles or minutes.
                      2. No all-day step counting, please use intentional miles.
                      3. LOTS of intentional activity -- yoga, walking, weight-lifting, yard work-- can be converted to miles.
                      4. No activity completed before 2/1 counts towards this team challenge! Only mileage added before the challenge officially closes at midnight on 2/28 will count in the leaderboards.
